NOTAS SOBRE LA ANIDACIÓN DEL TOROROÍ BIGOTUDO ( GRALLARIA ALLENI ) EN LA CORDILLERA CENTRAL DE COLOMBIA
RESUMEN
Estudiamos varios aspectos de la anidación del Tororoi Bigotudo, Grallaria alleni , una especie amenazada en Colombia debido a la destrucción de los bosques subandinos. El nido es una taza similar a las reportadas para otros miembros del género; la nidada es de dos huevos azul-verdosos; presentamos los primeros datos sobre el peso de los huevos. Medimos el microclima del nido durante cinco días; los datos sobre sesiones de incubación y el valor de constancia de incubación indican que ambos padres comparten esta labor. La aparente preferencia de la especie para anidar cerca de cañadas puede estar relacionada con el microclima estable que éstas proveen. También describimos con foto un juvenil.

Notes on the nesting of the Moustached Antpitta ( Grallaria alleni ) in the Central Andes of Colombia
ABSTRACT
We studied several aspects of the nesting of the Moustached Antpitta ( Grallaria alleni ), an endangered species in Colombia due to the destruction of Andean forests. The nest is cup-shaped, similar in form to those reported for other members of the genus; the clutch is two greenish-blue eggs, for which we present the first recorded weights. We measured the nest microclimate during five days; data on incubation sessions and the value for constancy of incubation indicate that both adults share this task. The apparent preference of the species for nesting near streams may reflect the more stable microclimate these provide. We also describe a juvenile, with a photograph.
